Enhanced Login Experience With EntryKeyID

Date: 02/20/24

Heritage Health (Medicaid):

The first security enhancement is verification with one-time codes. These one-time verification codes are sent via email to users when they initially create their account and as needed to unlock an account, reset a lost or forgotten password, or complete two-step verification. The one-time verification codes are replacing the current one-time links sent via email, reducing friction and making the experience more consistent across all Centene applications.

The next enhancement utilizes one-time codes for risk-based two-step verification, also known as multi-factor authentication (MFA). After a user creates their account, risk-based two-step verification protects it. Two-step verification uses a one-time code to make sure the user can confirm their identity with something other than a password. Users will only be prompted to complete two-step verification if there are risk-based factors present—new devices, new location, different user behavior—or 90 or more days have passed since their previous verification.

Another benefit of this Enhanced Login Experience is customer empowerment with self-service. A new EntryKeyID self-service dashboard improves user experience by allowing users to manage their own digital identity. This includes managing methods for two-step verification, changing login emails, updating passwords, and completing other identity-centric functions. In turn, this also reduces call-center drivers and production support incidents.

The Enhanced Login Experience also provides better 508 accessibility compliance, more language options for the login experience by adding Mandarin and Russian alongside English and Spanish, improved user login journeys shaped by data-driven decisions, easier troubleshooting capabilities with improved analytics, and expanded application and network security.

In summary, this initiative improves the security of Centene customer data. All three upcoming EntryKeyID changes ensure the right people have access to the right data at the right time while managing the abrasion that security often introduces.
