What we do

Nebraska Total Care successfully provides high quality, whole health solutions for members. We recognize the significance and importance of racial and ethnic identity, culture, language, and experience of our members and their communities. Respecting and understanding these differences guides how provide care and form partnerships in communities that bridge social, ethnic, and economic gaps.

Why we do this

Equity is the absence of unfair, avoidable, or remediable differences among groups of people socially, economically, demographically, geographically or by other dimensions of inequality. Health Equity is achieved when everyone can attain their full potential for health and well-being.

Despite consistent health benefits, groups of people do not experience the same health outcomes. Race and ethnicity, living conditions, and limited access to education and income all create health disparities that lead to distinct differences in length of life, quality of life, disabilities, and severity of illness.

We recognize the significance and importance of racial and ethnic identity, culture, language, and experience of our members and their communities. Respecting and understanding these differences guides how we approach population health, provider relationships, community partnerships, and our workplace.

Our Commitment

We are committed to building sustainable and equitable solutions for the health of all our communities. This starts with local leadership teams and is possible because we focus on listening to and empowering local voices, relying on our communities to define for themselves the areas we should focus our efforts.    

ACTION WITH OUR MEMBERS By listening closely to our members, we can identify abundance and scarcity in services and resources and then wrap around to connect what exists today and what can exist in the future.

ACTIONS WITH OUR COMMUNITIES We engage with established, anchor community organizations to understand local needs and partner on Social Determinants of Health interventions and funding.

ACTION WITH OUR PROVIDERS We leverage our knowledgeable local network teams to reach out in person to healthcare providers and look at the individual member level to pinpoint barriers to better health and workable solutions.

ACTION WITH OUR TEAM We hire diverse and dedicated employees who know our purpose is at the heart of all we do, directly from the communities we serve.
